Headshot workshop

Recently I attended a women’s headshot workshop. This was so outside my box - there wasn’t a single furry critter there! But I had a blast and learned a lot! I’ve been wanting to add personal branding to my business, so this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.

As a pet business owner myself, I understand how important including our fur kids in our business brand is. Often, they are the inspiration behind our endeavors. Since I’m already comfortable photographing pets, I needed to find someone who specializes in headshots to teach me more about posing people. Olivia Ginn of In Style Imagery put together a super one day workshop through Professional Photographers of America and did a great job!

Our day started out with covering the business of personal branding - how to market, sell and price for these types of sessions. After a lunch break, she lined up a model so we could get hands on experience on posing. We also covered lighting, hair and makeup as well as wardrobe options. I left with some great images, and a ton of ideas of how to incorporate this into my business. I especially want to work with pet entrepreneurs, many of whom tend to be women, because this is obviously, an industry that is close to my heart.
