New Year Reflections
The arrival of a new year often sparks a sense of excitement — a fresh start, new hopes, and exciting goals. It’s the perfect time to pause and reflect, as we often get stuck in our routines and lose sight of what truly matters. The arrival of a brand-new calendar serves as a gentle nudge to refocus and reconnect with our priorities.
As December winds down and the first days of January unfold, I love to carve out quiet time with my planner, journal, and notebook. This ritual helps me reflect on the past year, assess where I am, and plan for the future. With a clear mind, I jot down the tasks and goals I want to accomplish before my calendar fills up with obligations, chores, and appointments. Putting things in writing helps me stay on track and more likely to follow through.
For me, this includes setting aside time for photography, engaging in creative activities, and spending more time outdoors in nature — things I don’t do enough but long to make a regular part of my life.
As I look back on the previous year, I ask myself: What changes do I want to make? What commitments - or recommitments - do I want to honor? What does my ideal life look like, and what steps do I need to take to move closer to it?
With each passing year, I’m becoming more aware of how important it is to take care of my health. Eating well, staying active, and prioritizing self-care, no matter how busy life gets. I've always been good at making to-do lists and checking off tasks, but lately, I’ve realized I’ve been focusing more on getting things done and less on nurturing my well-being. And I’m starting to feel the effects of that neglect.
So what does all of this mean for my photography business? A lot, actually! I’m excited to share that I will be launching a brand-new website this month. In addition, I’m expanding the types of photography sessions I offer and unveiling a new line of artwork for your home. Though some of these projects are still in the early stages, I’m excited to see them unfold throughout the year.
2024 was my most rewarding year yet, and I’m incredibly thankful to all my clients for your trust and support. This year reminded me of the importance of nurturing my craft and fully pursuing my passions. I’m more inspired than ever to grow my business, challenge my creativity, and see where 2025 takes me.
Here’s to a year of intentional living, growth, and creativity. Cheers to the journey ahead!
